Annual Report & Photography Calendar
CALL FOR ENTRY
The City of Winchester will produce an informational calendar that features beautiful, fun and dynamic
scenes o
f Winchester. In an effort to engage citizens and to feature the quality of life in Winchester, the
calendar will encompass Winchester scenes per month plus useful information about City services,
events, meetings, department contacts and much more. Photographers of any age, level of experience
or jurisdiction are encouraged to participate in this activity.
Deadline to submit images to this Call is Monday, November 1, 2021.
Selection:
The images selected will be those that best represent the City of Winchester and all
that is has to offer to its citizens and meet the below requirements.
Appropriate Subjects:
The organizers seek to promote all facets of life in Winchester: from architecture to fun public events,
from sports to arts and culture, from people to landscapes. A variety of images from all seasons are
sought. ALL IMAGES MUST BE TAKEN WITHIN CITY LIMITS. As it is a community calendar to be
viewed by all ages, no images containing nudity will be considered.
Requir
ements:
All work must be original, taken by the artist submitting the application.
One photographer may submit up to five images.
The photographer does not have to be a city resident but the image must be of/in the city limits.
Both black
and white images and color images will be considered.
If the main focus of the photo is a person, please be sure to get the person’s written consent
before taking and submitting the photo. A copy of this written consent will be requested if the
photo is chosen. If the written consent cannot be provided, the photo will be disqualified.
Images can be submitted via email or drop off a CD/external drive to Amy Simmons at Rouss
City Hall, 15 N. Cameron Street, Winchester, VA 22601. Be sure to include your contact
information (name, phone number and email address). To submit large files (over 9MB),
consider using www.wetransfer.com or www.dropbox.com (free online services).
Printed copies of photographs will not be accepted.
Submit high-resolution digital files only (at least 300 dpi).
Final calendar size is 8.5” Wx11” H.
Formats accepted: jpeg, tiff, eps, psd
Schedule
:
• E-mail or drop off entry application and images by or before Monday, November 1, 2021,
at 5 p.m. Unless otherwise arranged, due to some unforeseen emergency, entries will not be
accepted after that date and time.
• Photographers will be notified if their photos will be included in the 2022 calendar and be sent a
proof prior to printing.
