WPE General Information
There are no requirements to attend most non-credit continuing education classes. Most
classes do not require a high school diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma. Some
experience may be necessary. Check course description for details and required
prerequisites. Contact WPE for more information at 732-255-0409.
Class Confirmation
Provide a current email address to receive your course confirmations/registration receipts by
email upon registration. Students registering online may print a registration receipt. It is your
responsibility to confirm the start of the course and its room assignment by checking online
here. WPE posts the weekly schedule of class meeting times every Friday. All classes are
at OCC, unless otherwise noted. IMPORTANT! Bring your registration receipt/confirmation to
the first class. If you register close to the start of the class, your name will not be on
the instructor’s attendance sheet. Present your payment receipt for entrance into the class.
Refund Policy
WPE will provide a refund for a class ONLY if you withdraw four (4) business days,
8:00AM-4:00PM prior to the start date of the class for which you are registered. If you are
withdrawing due to medical circumstances or personal hardship, WPE requires proper
documentation. Refunds are issued within 2-4 weeks based on the original payment
method. WPE does not issue refunds should you be dismissed from class for misconduct. WPE
does not issue refunds for trips or ticketed events. Student substitutions for courses are not
allowed.

Attendance Policy
Earn Continuing Education Units CEU for participation in occupation & professional
development courses. You will find CEU eligible courses in the brochure with the amount of
CEU given at the end of the course descriptions. In order to be eligible to receive CEU, you
must meet the 80% attendance requirement, and in some cases, a passing grade, unless
otherwise stated in the course description. The standard applies to certificate programs also.
Your instructor will answer questions regarding the 80% attendance rate for a specific class
on the first day of class.
Certificate Programs & Transcripts
In order to qualify for a certificate, you must successfully complete all of the courses within
the Certificate Program inclusive of their requirements. Send the request for your certificate
to wpeinfo@ocean.edu. Provide your OCC ID#, your name, date of birth, the name of
the certificate you are requesting, dates attended, and your current mailing address. Follow
this procedure when requesting a transcript letter.
Employer-Sponsored Registration
WPE accepts purchase orders, vouchers, and letters of intent on company letterhead for pre-
approved companies only by mail. A completed WPE Registration Form must accompany
these documents.
Course Changes/Cancellations
Ocean County College WPE reserves the right to cancel a course. Additionally, course time,
location, or instructor may change. If the status of a course is changed, WPE will notify you by
email or phone call. If a course is canceled, all registered students will be issued a full refund.
Disability Accommodations
Reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities are determined and approved by
the Center for Student Success–Disability Services. If you, as a student, believe you are
eligible for accommodations (e.g. testing, captioning, ASL, large print) but have not obtained

Bookstore
Textbooks are available at the OCC Bookstore located in the Jon and Judith Larson Student
Center Building #8 on the Toms River Campus, unless stated otherwise in the course
description. Purchase books online at the OCC Official Bookstore. For bookstore hours, call
732-255-0333.
Parents of Students Under Age 18
You must submit a completed Health & Waiver Form with your child’s registration form prior
to the camp/course start date or bring it with you on the first day of the camp/course. In case
of an emergency, OCC will administer First Aid and/or arrange for transport to a hospital
unless otherwise notified by you.
Student Misconduct
OCC does not tolerate student misconduct on OCC’s campus at any time. For a list of
misconduct examples, refer to the OCC Student Campus Life Policy #5247 at
www.ocean.edu. OCC administration will address all WPE student misconduct incidents and
deal with each situation appropriately.
