Political Science Associate in Arts Degree for Transfer
Complete the following program of study. (Major C.7450.AA-T) Major requirements (18 units minimum).
The Political Science Associate in Arts Degree for Transfer allows students to begin their major in Political
Science at Clovis Community College and transfer to a CSU campus for completion in pursuit of a Bachelor of
Arts degree. The courses offered as part of the AA-T in Political Science degree give students a strong foundation
in the study of American politics and government, nation-states, international actors, political theory, and
political science methodology. In this way, students will be prepared for a broad spectrum of pursuits within the
discipline, including, but not limited to, public administration, law, public relations, lobbying, political
consulting, crisis management, journalism, public policy research, higher education, and K-12 education.

Students will be advised by counseling to take Elementary Statistics (MATH-11 or STAT-7) to satisfy the
Mathematical Concepts and Quantitative Reasoning area requirement.
Certification of either the California State University General Education Breadth (CSU GE-Breadth) or the
Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC-CSU version) is required. CSU GE- Breadth
and IGETC advising sheets are available in Student Services, AC2-133 or online at CCC GE (CSU/UC) GE
and Major Sheets.

international political frameworks and institutions

To obtain the Political Science Associate in Arts Degree for Transfer, students must complete the
following requirements:
1. Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units that are eligible for transfer to the California State
University, including both of the following:
a. The Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) or the California State University
Genera
l Education Breadth requirements.
b. A minimum of 18 semester units or 27 quarter units in a major or area of emphasis, as determined
by the community college district.
2. Obtainment of a minimum grade point average of 2.0. Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADTs) also require
