All males between the ages of 18 and 26 are required to register with the Selective Service. In order to
receive Financial Aid, males must have met this requirement.

Men 26 and Older that have not registered must:
If you have failed to register, you are not eligible for Title IV funds (i.e. Pell Grant) unless you are exempt. To
appeal this requirement, males must submit the following information for consideration.

1. For Veterans - Provide a DD214. Requirements 2, 3, 4, and 5 do not apply.
2. If you first entered the U.S. when you were 26 or older, provide documentation of the date you
entered the U.S. If you entered the U.S. on a valid non-immigrant visa prior to turning 26, and
remained in that status until after your 26
th
birthday, provide documentation. Requirements, 3, 4, and
5 do not apply.
3. Request a Status Information Letter from Selective Service. (This letter must be received prior to any
decision being made)
4. Write a Letter to the Financial Aid Office indicating why you did not register for Selective Service.
5. Provide any supporting documentation if applicable.
Please check the appropriate item for verification of your Selective Service status.
I am registered with the Selective Service. Attach copy of registration.
I am exempt from registering with the Selective Service. Attach documentation to support exemption.
Documentation may include active duty military status with the armed services; proof of residence for
Federal States of Micronesia, or the Marshall Islands, or the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands; or
valid government-issued ID to verify female status, born before 1960 or under 18 years old.
I am 26 or older and have not registered with the Selective Service. Attach Selective Service Status
Information Letter, Student Letter and any supporting documentation.
