By submitting this document, I understand that I am requesting a Direct Subsidized Loan. Direct
Subsidized Loans are funded by the US Department of Education and are low interest. This loan request
will not be processed until my financial aid file is complete and my eligibility verified. I also understand I
will be awarded the maximum loan amount I qualify for and if I want a lower amount, I must contact the
Financial Aid Office.
I must be enrolled in at least 6 credits (or 180 clock hours) which count towards my degree program in
order to receive a loan disbursement (if I withdraw down below 6 credits or 180 clock hours, I CANNOT
receive my loan disbursement). I must also complete a loan entrance interview (unless previously
completed at IRSC) and Master Promissory Note before my loan will be disbursed through
studentloans.gov.
If I am a first time borrower and/or first time student, my loan funds cannot be disbursed until 30 days
from the first day of classes.
Note: This request is for a “Direct Subsidized Loan” only. If you are eligible and would like to be
considered for a “Direct Unsubsidized Loan” please print and complete the “Direct Unsubsidized Loan”
request form. Direct Unsubsidized loan interest will capitalize (build up) while you are enrolled in school
(unless you choose to make payments).
