Revised May, 2020, hl 1
Scholarships will be available to SFCC students for the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters.
Awards are $2000/semester for full-time enrollment (12 credit hours or more) and $1000/semester for enrollment in 6-11
credit hours. Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours. Repeat coursework and courses on a Consortium
Agreement will not count toward enrollment. Courses taken for audit will not count toward enrollment. Courses taken on a
Pass/Fail basis will count toward enrollment but will not contribute to the student’s GPA.
Applicants who are receiving other forms of financial aid may be disqualified from scholarship consideration. Scholarship
selection is based solely on the criteria specified on the application. However, students who are receiving agency, third-party
or other types of financial aid assistance should be aware of the following:
Scholarships are considered part of SFCC’s financial aid program. Although rare, the Financial Aid Office may
reduce loans or other aid already accepted to prevent exceeding the student’s cost of attendance.
Students whose tuition is paid by external sources (New Mexico Legislative Lottery Scholarship, Workforce
Investment Act, New Mexico Division of Vocational Rehabilitation or Veterans Affairs) cannot be awarded an
SFCC scholarship that pays for tuition. Typically the student may choose either the external source or the
institutional scholarship for the tuition payment, but may not receive both. Students are encouraged to review
their status carefully before accepting any scholarship award.
Funding will be prioritized for students who are within three semesters of completing their degree or who don’t
have access to other types of financial aid
Please complete every item for application to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
