Nominations for the 2019 Retired Faculty and Staff Hall of Honor
Why is there a Hall of Honor?
Faculty and staff are the "face of the University" and make it all it is and has been. Faculty and staff who have
made exceptional contributions to the university community deserve to be recognized for those efforts.
The CSU, Chico and Emeritus and Retired Faculty and Staff Association’s (ERFSA) Hall of Honor (HOH) is an
opportunity to recognize and honor our outstanding retired faculty and staff for their many contributions. There
are numerous ways faculty and staff make a difference for students, including: helping the University accomplish
its educational goals and mission, civic engagement, exemplary representatives of their profession, and providing
high quality service to the greater community.
HOH nominations are being accepted for individuals who meet the following criteria
Professional Category Criteria:
1. Educators and staff who exemplify the principles and high character of CSU, Chico.
2. Retired from full-time employment with CSU, Chico: 20+ years in profession, 10 years with CSU, Chico.
3. Professionally active individuals who have served CSU, Chico, their fields, and their professions.
4. Educators and staff who have received significant recognition for their CSU, Chico work and projects.
5. Educators and staff who have influenced and made a positive difference in the lives of students.
6. Educators and staff who are respected by their peers and those working for and with CSU, Chico.
7. Significant contributions in any the following:
o Professional training, education and improvements;
o Outstanding projects and/or programs for which the nominee was personally responsible for directing,
leading and accomplishing;
o Leadership positions held at CSU, Chico, in the profession and community;
o Service to community, benefitting the public and environment;
o Awards and honors, and professional projects, publications, master planning and policy development that
have benefitted others and brought significant credit or resources to CSU, Chico.
Legacy Category Criteria:
The Legacy category is for those individuals who are deceased and have:
1. significantly met much of the above criteria and who have completed significant leadership and historically
significant "benchmark" projects or events for CSU, Chico; or
2. made lasting, positive impressions for CSU, Chico and the programs with which they worked. University work
and projects may have been "century" significant to the candidate's profession or the greater community
served by CSU, Chico.
Sponsors or Nominators:
Nominees must have a nominator from at least one of the following groups:
· The CSU, Chico ERFSA Executive or Awards Committee
· Retired CSU, Chico educators or staff members
· Past or present department chairs or college deans
· University administrators
· CSU, Chico alumni
