CULTIVATING AND ENCOURAGING OUR NONEXEMPT LEADER POTENTIAL!
The Office of Human Resources is excited to announce the start of the nomination process for
UD Connections, our cohort-based, multisession program for full-time, nonexempt employees
at the University of Dayton!
Although participation is not tied to promotion, pay raise or any other reward system, being
selected for this program can:
Lead to creation of greater institutional knowledge and commitment among
nonexempt employees.
Provide the cohort with a personal and professional development opportunity.
Recognize the contribution of nonexempt employees and retain them as valuable
supporters of the mission.
Help build community within UD.
Develop employees who are familiar with nonexempt professional concerns to serve on
University committees.
Enable the ability to knowledgeably represent UD in greater Dayton community.
MAKING THE COMMITMENT
As part of their commitment, supervisors or managers will:
Allow and encourage participants to attend the sessions.
Create opportunities for participants to use their knowledge and skills within and
outside the department or unit.
As part of their commitment, participants will:
Attend at least six out of seven of the programs outlined on the attached UD
Connections calendar.
Contribute thoughtfully to the session discussion.
Adhere to the ground rules established for the program.
NOMINATION AND SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS
Potential participants may be nominated by their supervisors or may self-nominate using the
attached UD Connections candidate application. The number of participants is limited;
selections will be made by the UD Connections committee in early August.
Please note: Bargaining unit employees will use the same application, but a different process will
be used in their selection.
